It’s the work weekend. The event is the Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt (Valcourt, QC). I just got done making an interview and note taking round in the pits. I get back to the production suite, take off the mittens, breathe and think, “You’ve gone and done it again,” as I come to the realization that I’ve gathered way more notes that I’ll be able to convey in the broadcast. Ah, well. Business as usual. A successful visit to the pits. What I don’t get to talk about today, I’ll table for a future event.

Beyond that, I get to meet so many new friends and mingle with familiar ones on a daily basis. There are so many experiences I feel compelled to share.

It was at the moment I arrived back at the booth that I realized I should start writing things down: Insights on what may not be shown on camera and the laughable, sometimes cringeworthy moments that happen during my travels. There is no shortage.

If you know me, you know that I’m not one to take things for granted. The time I spend on the job, my dream job, is no different. With every event, I find myself taking a second during a brief and fleeting moment of downtime to breathe and let it sink in- you’re here. Getting to do this. How cool is that?

So here goes nothing. I’m proud of the places I get to visit and thankful for the opportunity to do so. I hope you’ll stick around and maybe share a chuckle with me as I put my thoughts to [digital] paper. It ain’t a literary work of art, but it’s something.
